- Beauty Services: Schedule all beauty appointments like facials, waxing, manicures, and pedicures 24-48 hours before your spray tan. Hair wash day should be either the day before your tan, or 24 hours after your initial rinse.
- Everything Shower: 24 hours before your appointment, take an everything shower. Exfoliate your whole body, especially drier areas like your hands, knees, elbows, feet, and ankles. Shave entirely using your normal shaving routine, and rinse with a gentle soap. If possible, try to exfoliate 2-3 times leading up to your appointment. Please DO NOT exfoliate the day of your appointment. Avoid scrubs containing oils and always use a fresh razor!
- Moisturize: Moisturize your skin each day, excluding the day of your appointment. Skin should be free of products like lotions, oils, makeup, and deodorant. Be sure to drink plenty of water to hydrate from the inside out.
- Things to avoid: Avoid products like Dove, Bath and Body Works, and Victoria Secret. Retinoids or Retinols should be discontinued one week prior to your appointment.
- Hands Off: Avoid touching your skin to prevent the transfer of DHA. No sweating for at least 24 hours.
- First Rinse: You may hop in the shower for your initial rinse at the time specified by your spray tan artist. Use only lukewarm water and your hands to gently remove the topical bronzer. Please do not use exfoliating products until you are ready for your tan to come off.
- Shaving: Please wait at least 24 hours to resume your shaving routine. If you must shave, it is recommended to use a new blade that does not contain moisturizing strips.
- Sleepy Girls: If you will be sleeping in your fresh spray tan please wear long, dark, loose fitting pajamas to avoid the DHA transferring onto your sheets. Pajamas should be breathable to prevent sweating.
- Hydrate: Hydration is key to beautiful lasting results. Use a tan safe lotion twice daily and drink plenty of water.
